Responsibilities

MV Transportation is seeking an experience Human Resources Assistant.  A successful applicant will provide day-to-day human resources support in the following areas: 

  • Review disciplinary and termination documentation to ensure that proper procedure was properly documented and followed. 
  • Ensure that proper employment procedures are being followed (Handbook and/or CBA) at operating location. 
  • Ensure that HR policies and procedures are communicated and being followed; respond to questions as needed. 
  • Assist with manager and employee development training as necessary. 
  • Administer all employee benefits and handle open enrollment 
  • Will assist with compliance issues; experience with issues such as accommodations, interactive discussions, wage/hour law is highly preferred. 
  • Work with the divisional administration staff to meet recruiting, new hires, increases, etc. is being completed and submitted for processing in a timely manner. 

Qualifications

Talent Requirements:

  • Ideal candidate will possess a B.A. or B.S. degree in a related field of study. 
  • Must have previous HR experience. 
  • One (1) to three (3) + years Human Resources experience. 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Must possess strong computer skills (MS Suite). 
  • Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written. 
  • Must have exceptional skills in an hourly employee-based environment. 
  • Experience in transit-related roles is advantageous.
